Summer!

So I might be jumping the gun here but I am feeling like spring is finally here which means summer is just around the corner. I have even rearranged my closet so that winter clothes are out of sight and only the bright, nice-weather clothes are in view. Luisa and I went outside and soaked up some rays while Donny and all the students were in class. Granted, we only stayed outside for a grand total of 15 minutes because Luisa began eating rocks and the moment I took them away she screamed so loud that the students might have confused the scream with the sound of the bell.
Mischievous!

The beautiful weather outside has really made me excited for the summer. We have some big plans! Let me tell you about a few of them.

1. We have developed a strict schedule whereby I will finally finish my Master's thesis. Since finishing my coursework, my poor thesis has been so rudely interrupted (marriage, moving, new job, baby...) but I am so ready to jump into it completely and fully now. I'm writing it on Virgil's Aeneid. I love, love, love this work and I will literally defend Aeneas to the death! I actually have a lot written already but it needs some serious editing. Anyways, I am so excited about it!

2. We are thinking about taking two trips this summer as a family. One right when school ends, and another to celebrate finishing my thesis. The first trip will most likely be a Boston trip where we will most likely visit Haymarket Square and the Chocolate Cafe. The second is still a mystery. I'm thinking beach, beach, beach! We'll have to wait and see!

3. Luisa will be walking... I hope! Until then, she is completely content lounging on the couch with her dad and speed crawling all over the house.

What are you all up to this summer?

  1. Hehe, grand total of 15 minutes- I would call that a good day. Luisa is such a lounger!
Glad to hear your thesis is going well. I wish I could come over to celebrate it when it's finished.
    Mmmm, some yummy margaritas!

  2. Wow! Mariana, that is wonderful.
We have also been thinking about a trip. Ive secretly been looking into Jamaica. It looks amazing... And apparently very child friendly.
What is your thesis on? You were in the masters of humanities program at UD?
Luisa us such a cute little thing. I love her lounging expression- just like my Eamon haha!

  3. I love the speed crawl... They have such a look of determination and where-with-all spread across their little faces.
